Washington County Democratic Committee members attended 3 Mark Warner Listening meetings in SWVA this past week.
On Tuesday in Independence, Mark held a roundtable meeting with 60 local Ag/Farmers and was introduced by Gene Copenhaver, 5th generation cattleman from Washington County, and current President of the National Cattleman's Association.
Later on Tuesday evening Mark met with about 40 local town and county leaders, representatives from the U.S. Forest Service, Kiewitt Construction, State Senator Todd Pillion, local hospitality business leaders, trail enthusiasts and local Washington County residents in Damascus to receive an update on the Creeper Trail reconstruction project. The project is nearing completion with plans being made for a soft opening this November and Grand Reopening in March 2027.
On Wednesday after meetings in Buchanan and Russell counties and Dickenson County Hospital which may potentially be forced to close for financial reasons in the near future, Mark held a listening meeting with 75+ local Lee and Wise County residents in Big Stone Gap.
