Cindy Green of Bristol, VA was the sole candidate to file the Declaration of Candidacy with Nominating Committee Chair Karl Busch prior to the May 7th, 5:00 p.m. deadline set forth in the Call to Caucus. Therefore, the Caucus is hereby cancelled, and Ms. Green is declared the Democratic Nominee for the Virginia House of Delegates, District 44
Congratulations, Cindy! AND Congratulations to District 44 as we now have the opportunity to send someone to Richmond who will stand for our values and be responsive to the needs of Southwest Virginia!
Cindy is not a career politician — she's a mother, grandmother, sister, neighbor, and citizen who believes that democracy only works when we all participate. Cindy is stepping up to run for the Virginia House of Delegates because she believes District 44 deserves to have a choice on the ballot this November. Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, after living in other parts of the country, Cindy moved back and has called these mountains home for over 30 years. She raised her children here, and her granddaughter reminds her to dream big for the future we are building in the present. For these reasons and more, Cindy cares deeply about the wellbeing of our people. She has worked in Finance and Economic Development for three decades, helping to revitalize rural communities and connect small businesses with fair lenders. Cindy is an advocate, an ally, and she stands for justice for all.
